Fiscal Year 2015 Annual Report: Data and GIS

COMPASS serves as a mapping and data resource for the entire Treasure Valley. Quality data – relating to everything from demographics to roadway congestion – provide the foundation for COMPASS programs and projects and are relied upon to inform decision-making and support technical tools throughout the region.

2015 Highlights:

  • Completed the rollout of the online Performance Dashboard, which provides a wealth of publically accessible local data and serves as a report card on the region’s progress toward achieving Communities in Motion performance measures and targets.
    • Supports Strategic Plan Objective 3.2, Facilitate the sharing of data and information
  • Collected annual travel time data, covering nearly 340 miles of primary roadways throughout Ada and Canyon Counties. In addition to the travel time data collection, use of park and ride facilities was surveyed throughout the two-county area. The data are used for planning and prioritizing transportation projects.
    • Supports Strategic Plan Objective 3.2, Facilitate the sharing of data and information
  • Added three new two-county datasets to the COMPASS-hosted Regional Data Center. In addition to new datasets, existing data in the Regional Data Center were continually kept up to date, as partners automatically provided updates with their local, authoritative data. This ensures ongoing access to accurate and timely information for all COMPASS members.
