Fiscal Year 2015 Annual Report: Modeling and Technical Tools

Computer modeling and other technical tools work in concert to examine the current and future state of our transportation system. These tools, and the data and other information they provide, support planning efforts and help ensure COMPASS plans meet federal requirements.

2015 Highlights:

  • Used the “Transportation Economic Development Impact System” (TREDIS) tool in support of regional priorities, including conducting a benefit-cost analysis of widening Interstate 84 between the Franklin Boulevard and Northside Boulevard interchanges in Nampa and estimating the benefits of replacing a culvert adjacent to the interstate in the same area. Improvements to Interstate 84 in Canyon County were identified as the top priority among unfunded projects in Communities in Motion 2040.
