People & Structure - Education

COMPASS provides opportunities for Board members to learn more about the role of COMPASS as a metropolitan planning organization (MPO). Elected officials and staff from member agencies, as well as the general public are invited to attend our “Jump Start” orientation program.

Jump Start

Jump Start is valuable for people new to transportation planning as well as those who would like an update. Participants learn about the role of COMPASS as a metropolitan planning organization (MPO), about its federal requirements and funding, and about its key products and services, such as the regional long-range transportation plan (Communities in Motion), the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), demographic forecasting, and modeling.
