Orthophotography

COMPASS facilitates orthophotography flights over Ada and Canyon Counties. The current acquisition plan is to capture yearly imagery for the urban areas from 2022-2027, and rural areas every several years. The resulting orthophotos and associated contour data are available for purchase. The most current year available is 2025 and covers the urban areas of Canyon and northern Ada County at a three-inch pixel resolution. The rural parts of both counties are covered as well, at a six-inch resolution. Please see the Orthophotography Project Grid Lookup link below to view the coverage.

Digital Orthophotography and Contour Data

The most recent three and six-inch resolution imagery for Ada and Canyon Counties is available for $350 per section; each section includes the corresponding contour data that was generated from the 2019 Lidar collection. The foothills portion does not have corresponding contours, for sections in this area see the “Older Orthophotography” section below. For the price of purchasing orthophotography for the entire project area, please contact Eric Adolfson (208/475-2245).
