Traffic Counts

Traffic Counts

Click on the map below to access COMPASS’ interactive traffic volume map. The map provides the most recent average weekday traffic volumes (counts) for locations throughout Ada and Canyon Counties, collected by multiple transportation agencies using permanent and portable traffic counters. In the map, click on a road segment to see the most recent traffic count data for that location. Additional instructions and helpful hints are provided in the map itself.

For questions or assistance, contact info@compassidaho.org.

Additional traffic count information is available via the Ada County Highway District and the Idaho Transportation Department.

COVID-19 Traffic Volume Trends

Click on the map below to see the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on traffic volumes in Ada and Canyon Counties. The map compares 2019 volume data by month to 2020 and 2021 volumes for the same months. It is being updated to add new data as they become available.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts

Since the fall of 2015, COMPASS has installed automated bicycle and pedestrian counters throughout the Treasure Valley. These counts help measure the demand of active transportation modes within Ada and Canyon County, and data received is used to help with prioritizing projects, determining need, and monitoring success. The following count data are to be used for general planning purposes only. COMPASS assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of this information. Listed below are the annual reports from the most recent five years for each permanent counter location monitored. For older data, please contact Dane Hoskins (208/475-2240).
